Dubai launches metaverse-based horse racing platform

Dubai metaverse-based horse racing platform

Dubai Verse Cup (DVCC), a play-to-earn Metaverse-based horse racing platform, has joined hands with Dubai Racing Club, which organizes the huge races at Meydan, to create the new Metaverse-based horse racing platform.

The platform will allow game players to ride around the popular Meydan Racecourse track on the back of their chosen horse. DVCC has introduced the immersive horse racing metaverse based on the bustling culture around the sport in Dubai.

CEO at DVCC, Vincent Isik, said, “Our platform is combining futuristic metaverse gaming with Dubai’s horse racing ecosystem. It was instinctive to partner with the most experienced and best in the industry, Dubai Racing Club.”

The collaboration will further develop DVCC’s play-to-earn gaming model, where players can gain rewards in the form of the DVCC dollar tokens based on their breeding and racing performance.

Players can exchange tokens for horses, avatars, perks, and skins, making the game a thriving marketplace and a competitive space at the heart of the Meydan Racecourse.

To further enhance the immersive and interactive experience, the game is played in a family-based system. Users can gather together in a family to compete with others and enhance their business or racing abilities.

NVIDIA introduces deepfake technology to simulate eye contact with camera

NVIDIA deepfake technology eye contact camera

NVIDIA’s tool for live streaming and video conferencing, NVIDIA Broadcast, can now digitally alter a subject’s eyes in real-time to make it appear as though they are looking directly at the camera.

One issue while shooting live-streamed video at home for professional use or on video calls is that some people are uncomfortable staring directly into the camera and instead look either at a script or other people on screen.

To solve this issue, NVIDIA has been working on a type of “deepfake” technology that can artificially adjust the eyes of the subject to make them appear as though they are making eye contact directly with the camera.

The feature is called Eye Contact. NVIDIA explained that the new Eye Contact effect moves the eyes of the user to simulate eye contact with the camera by estimating and aligning gaze.

The eyes retain their natural blinks and color, and there is also a disconnect feature to transition smoothly between simulated and real eyes in case one looks too far away.

While only being introduced into Broadcast recently, the technology has been under development at NVIDIA since last year under the name Maxine. Maxine is a set of GPU-accelerated AI SDKs and cloud-native microservices that are developed to enhance video, audio, and augmented reality effects in real time.

Researchers in Israel develop biohybrid smell sensor that is 10,000 times more sensitive

Israel biohybrid smell sensor

Israeli Researchers have developed a biohybrid sensor for smells that is 10,000 times more sensitive than today’s sensors that can be attached to a robot.

The sensor developed by researchers at Tel Aviv University uses the antenna of a locust to send electrical signals as a response to the odor present nearby, allowing a robot to detect and interpret smells via machine learning. This could be used to identify explosives, drugs, diseases, and more.

The researchers were successful in connecting the biological sensor to an electronic system and, with the help of a machine learning algorithm, were able to identify volatile compounds with a sensitivity of 1ng, 10,000 times higher than gas chromatography–mass spectrometry.

The sensor is able to differentiate between a minimum of eight pure odors and two mixtures of different odorants, independent of odorant concentration.

Professor Yossi Yovel, the School of Zoology and the Sagol School of Neuroscience said, “A comparison with standard measuring devices indicated that the sensitivity of the insect’s nose in our system is almost 10,000 times higher than the devices that are in use today.”

Dr. Ben Maoz from the Fleischman Faculty of Engineering and the Sagol School of Neuroscience said, “The principle we have demonstrated can be used and applied to other senses, such as touch and sight. The creation of a robot with a biological nose can help us preserve human life and identify criminals in a way that is not possible today.”

China plans AI-warfare strategy against Taiwan

China AI-warfare strategy against Taiwan

China is planning an AI-warfare strategy for Taipei based on informative and intelligence warfare to advance to a new strategic level as tensions in the strait of Taiwan escalate, reported Asia Times.

According to the report, Chinese military experts are exploring ‘smart deterrence’ concepts which mark a remarkable evolution in the use of artificial intelligence and similar emerging technologies by China from operational and tactical military levels to influence strategic decision-making.

According to the deputy director of the Shanghai Institute of Taiwan Studies, Ni Yongjie, in their peer-reviewed journal Cross-Strait Taiwan Studies, China should use AI and other advanced technologies to deter the US and pro-independence factions in Taiwan.

China has enacted a flexible long-term strategy for the self-governing island of Taiwan, said the report. This strategy involves periodic military exercises involving blockades, along with a tighter military noose to increase the threat level.

Moreover, it sends the message that any massive military exercise could quickly turn into anything, like an indefinite blockade of Taiwan to starve it into submission, the report said.

ExpressVPN, a Secure and Reliable service

expressvpn review

ExpressVPN is a VPN service provider that offers a very secure and reliable service to its users. One of the main reasons for their success is their ability to offer users ability to connect to a server from almost anywhere in the world. This allows them to hide their online identity and make their activities completely anonymous. Having said that, there are some things to consider when deciding whether or not to use this type of VPN.

Split tunneling

Split tunneling with ExpressVPN allows users to choose which applications will access the internet through the VPN, allowing users to choose what is best for their needs. It also provides an enhanced connection speed.

Several leading VPN services offer split tunneling. For example, NordVPN, ProtonVPN, and Surfshark all have the feature.

In addition, ExpressVPN has the ability to connect up to five devices at once. Additionally, the company offers a range of servers for users worldwide. A number of these servers use the company’s proprietary LightWay protocol, which is faster than OpenVPN.

ExpressVPN also offers a range of privacy features, including the use of private encrypted DNS. This technology enables the company to prevent hackers from installing backdoors into its network. More insights can be read in this particular ExpressVPN review.

Server network

ExpressVPN is a virtual private network (VPN) that offers a variety of security and privacy features. It has over three thousand servers across 94 countries. Using a VPN allows users to bypass censorship and geo-blocking to access content on a global scale.

ExpressVPN uses military-grade encryption to protect user data. There are several encryption protocols to choose from, including AES-256 bit, SHA-512 HMAC, and Diffie-Helman key exchange. In addition, ExpressVPN has a kill switch, allowing users to disconnect instantly if a server connection is lost.

Unlike many VPNs, ExpressVPN doesn’t log or store your IP address. The information is only used to help diagnose problems and to prevent abuse.

ExpressVPN also offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. Users can download the software for Windows, Linux, Mac, Android, and iOS devices.

Security protocols

ExpressVPN offers a secure connection to the internet without revealing any of your browsing or IP address to the authorities. The VPN service is built on military-grade encryption and masks your Internet Protocol Address. It also implements forward secrecy, which changes the encryption key at every session.

ExpressVPN offers more than 3000 servers in 94 countries. The company has been audited by several independent organizations, including Cure53, F-Secure Corp, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. These audits cover the inner workings of the service and its security protocols.

TrustedServer is a technology implemented by ExpressVPN that ensures all data stored on its servers is deleted with every reboot. Additionally, a kill switch is included to prevent data leaks.

The British Virgin Islands, where ExpressVPN is headquartered, is a safe jurisdiction to avoid surveillance. The territory has no mandatory data retention laws and does not share information with other countries.

Live chat support

ExpressVPN offers a live chat feature on its website. This feature allows users to contact their customer support team directly. They can solve common issues and get immediate help.

ExpressVPN also has a knowledge center. This website includes guides and tutorials for installing the app, using it, and troubleshooting various issues.

You can access the knowledge center from the support bar on the top right of the website. The bar includes guides for a variety of platforms, such as Android, iOS, Windows, and Linux. It even features a search box to make it easier to find the information you need.

If you’re experiencing a problem with the app, you can also open a support ticket. This requires you to enter your email address and operating system. Once you submit the ticket, a customer service agent will respond within one day.

Payment options

ExpressVPN has a great range of payment options. They accept major credit cards, PayPal, Diners Club, Alipay, and other payment methods. These include payments in currencies like USD, EUR, CAD, GBP, AUD, and more.

ExpressVPN also offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. This means that you can get a refund if you aren’t happy with the service.

If you aren’t sure about ExpressVPN, you can try it out for free. The trial includes all features and works on up to five devices. You can try it out for a month and decide whether or not you’ll continue to use it.

To install ExpressVPN on your device, you need to go to the company’s website. Once you’ve found the page, click the Get Started button. From there, you’ll be directed to a dashboard. Here, you can manage your subscription and perform other account-related actions.

Employee testifies Tesla faked 2016 video promoting its self-driving technology

Employee testifies Tesla faked 2016 video self-driving

According to testimony by Ashok Elluswamy, director of Autopilot software at Tesla, the company faked a 2016 video promoting its self-driving technology. It was first reported by Reuters

The video, which is still on Tesla’s website, shows a Tesla Model X driving on urban, suburban, and highway streets, stopping at a red light, and accelerating at the green one. The video carries the tagline: “The person in the driver’s seat is there only for legal reasons. He is not doing anything. The car is driving itself.”

Elon Musk used the video as evidence to prove that Tesla “drives itself” by relying on its several built-in sensors and self-driving software. However, Ashok Elluswamy said that video was staged using 3D mapping on a predetermined route, which is a feature that is not available to consumers.

According to Elluswamy, drivers had to intervene to take control during test runs. The scenes that were left on the cutting room floor included the test car crashing into a fence in Tesla’s parking lot when trying to park itself without a driver.

In Musk’s July deposition, which was taken as evidence in a lawsuit against the company for a fatal 2018 crash, Elluswamy said Musk asked the Autopilot team to record a video demonstration of the system’s capabilities.

Musk promoted the video at the time by saying that Tesla vehicles require “no human input at all” in order to drive from urban streets to highways and to eventually find a parking spot. Neither Musk nor Tesla has commented on the matter.
