OneNote will soon have Microsoft’s brand-new Microsoft 365 Copilot assistant. The software company is now prepared to demonstrate how an AI-powered assistant will affect note taking. Copilot was first introduced by the software giant last month for apps like Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Greg Mace, a product manager for OneNote, explains that Copilot leverages your suggestions as your note-taking companion to draw plans, develop ideas, build lists, organize information, and more.
The AI assistant may rewrite, format, or summarize current material in OneNote based on prompts in a sidebar interface, much like Copilot’s integration in Word. You may also ask the AI assistant to plan an event or to come up with meeting topics and talking points.

However, Microsoft hasn’t yet shown Copilot’s integrated connectivity with OneNote. When you mouse over a piece of a highlighted paragraph in the Word version, the Copilot assistant will emerge and offer you automatically modified content.
Additionally, Microsoft hasn’t specified a precise release date for Copilot in OneNote. Some of these early versions of Copilot can be activated in beta versions of Word right now. A small number of Microsoft 365 enterprise users are presently testing them in programmes like Word and Outlook.
