Dubai has recently announced the launch of its first virtual shopping mall. The mall of the Metaverse will represent Majid AI Futtaim in Decentraland, one of the advanced Metaverse platforms.
Khalifa bin Braik, CEO of Majid AI Futtaim Asset Management, mentioned that the mall of the Metaverse could be a leading retail and entertainment destination. He also said that the mall of the Metaverse is undoubtedly a huge attraction for customers craving digital experiences from their most loved brands.

Dubai has made several advancements in Metaverse technology. In November 2022, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid AI Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Chairman of Dubai’s Higher Committee of Future Technology Development and Digital Economy, accepted the new phase of the Dubai Metaverse Strategy.
Fatima Zada, the director of Omnichannel and Digital at Majid AI Futtaim Shopping Malls, stated that there had been an increased demand for digital experiences in the last few years. He also mentioned that UAE uses behavioral science and data to deliver to customers what they want and desire.
