OpenAI launches a pilot program with ChatGPT Plus, which would cost $20/month. The ChatGPT pricing looks aggressive, given what some of the popular AI content generators offer the service for.
To get access to ChatGPT Plus, you can fill out the waitlist form here.
However, according to the OpenAI blog, the company will continue offering ChatGPT for free.
As per OpenAI, the subscribers will have numerous benefits like General access to ChatGPT, even during peak times, faster response times, and priority access to new features and improvements.
However, the benefits don’t seem substantial since it is difficult to imagine what new features OpenAI could have in the future. Will they eventually become an alternative to already available AI-content generator platforms like Copy.ai by optimizing it for specific use cases? Would OpenAI start diverting from core research? Or the ChatGPT’s monetization will eventually be managed by Microsoft?
While we will have to wait to understand where OpenAI is heading with ChatGPT Plus, for now, the company has announced that it will soon launch the ChatGPT API Waitlist. In January, Microsoft has already announced to add ChatGPT to Azure services.
