Mike Krieger and Kevin Systrom, Instagram co-founders, have launched ‘Artifact,’ a personalized news feed using the latest AI technology, as revealed by Systrom on his official Twitter account. Artifact is a personalized news feed application whose name suggests that it is a combination of articles, facts, and artificial intelligence (AI).
As per the co-founders, the application would have the option of accessing a feed of popular articles picked from a curated range of publications, including leading news outlets to small-scale blogs on niche topics.
“The application has been designed to show the user similar posts and stories of their choice, once they tap on their favorite ones, just like the Tik Tok videos For You page algorithm,” said the co-founders.

Another feature is a direct message inbox that will enable users to discuss the posts they read privately with friends. The analysis of the time taken by the user will also be used by the current machine-learning algorithm deployed in Artifact.
Moreover, its upcoming launch would also offer the option to delete false information from posts that may spread it. As of now, the co-founders have not disclosed every publisher on its system, but users can search for individual outlets within the app, revealing the latest information.
On Tuesday, the application opened up its join waiting list page to the public, where they can sign up, and is available for both IOS and Android devices.
