Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, has recently stated that Elon Musk is attacking his company due to AI security issues. During the ‘On with Kara Swisher’ podcast, Altman mentioned that OpenAI is independent of Microsoft. Kara Swisher is a famous journalist who makes tech, business, and politics podcasts.
As per Sam Altman, OpenAI follows an unusual structure, where it makes money from different decisions. He acknowledges that Musk has been critical of OpenAI on Twitter and other platforms, but Altman also expresses appreciation for Musk’s artificial general intelligence (AGI) security issues. Besides their differences, Altman still finds Musk, a hero and believes in his contribution to the development of AGI.
During the podcast, Altman also discussed the potential of GPT-4, the successor to OpenAI’s GPT-3 language model. According to him, GPT-4 can be even more powerful and capable of performing complex tasks.
In early 2018, Elon Musk tried to take control of OpenAI, but the company’s founders, including Altman, rejected his proposal. He later resigned from OpenAI due to a conflict of interest.
